Every workplace can be an inspiring workplace that encourages creativity. How? Just like that.

About cool workplaces we've had it before. But not everyone works at Coolblue, Microsoft or Google. Nevertheless, every workplace can be an inspiring workplace that stimulates creativity. How? Just like that.

Creativity is increasingly important

From a World Economic Forum report, The Future of Jobs, it appears that in a few years, creativity will be one of the most important competencies in the labor market, alongside other “human” skills such as critical thinking, persuasion and negotiating power. Great, but what should you do with that as an employer?

Collaboration, individual work and variety

According to the Leesman Index: collaborating, working individually and a variety of workplaces. This variety of workplaces is therefore very important. Make sure that people can focus optimally in one room and then — after a creativity-stimulating cup of coffee — share their creative ideas with colleagues in an inspiring shared space with lots of fresh air and good acoustics.

Five tips

On the RTL News site, we read five tips from creative business consultant Annelies Engel. In short:

1 Make creativity part of your organizational culture and make sure everyone — from “low” to “high” — can share their creativity. Lead by example as a board of directors.

2 Hire someone who comes from a completely different industry. Knowledge of your product comes naturally, that fresh look is worth its weight in gold.

3 Ensure a safe and open culture. Fear of being burned down has a bad influence on creativity. Make sure your people feel free to experiment and come up with ideas.

4 Give people freedom and trust. Create a space where people can easily work together and feel good. Beanbags, sports areas, outdoor areas, healthy food contribute. But wonderful ideas can also arise on the beach, in a museum or when visiting customers.

5 Hire external knowledge. Buying a beanbag alone won't get you there. You might benefit from temporarily hiring an expert in this field. Someone to help you get things moving.

Curious?

We don't provide beanbags or creativity gurus, but we can provide inspiration and concentration in the workplace. With acoustic wall and ceiling panels, furniture and partitions — including the right one photography and branding — you can inspire and stimulate creativity. Do you want to continue talking?
